Project Info

Belonging to an Architect couple friend, we collaborated in the redevelopment of this 6 room 100 year old english bungalow based on the top of a hill. Which was reached by a 1 hour ardious trek and was a logistical challenge from the very onset of the project. While repairing its walls , we realised that the exposed stone was looking more romantic than the plastered walls. So all plaster was peeled off. The roof of the verandah was redone. Small toilet annexes were added at the back of the rooms and a grand hall develeped for dining and evening recreational activities. The adjoining servant unit was developed into a double level luxury room complete with pantry facilites. A huge rainwater collection tank at the bottom of the hill was created to take care of the year round water requirement. It was an amazing treat to see how this small unit in a 40 acre forest, in the midst of the Himalayas, has turned out to be a dream villa
